Fall 2020
Project Type: Graduate furniture design + construction studio. The goal was to design a piece of furniture that could be flat-packed, assembled with friction joinery, and only used 8' x 8' of material.
Concept: Elevation of the mundane.
Design Goals: The need for a stylized solution for hiding a pet bed, while also providing space for your pet to seek refuge.
Solution: The Tait Table. So many homes are places of refuge for both humans and our pets and so many homes also have the eyesore of a metal crate looming in the living room. The Tait Table could provide a space that can fit a large pet bed, a space your pet can feel safe in, and a functional side table that blends in with the interior environment.
Programs: Revit, AutoCad, Aspire
Machinery: Laser cutter, CNC, manual tools
Duration: 9 weeks
